| OK, take just a second to read what I swiped from Wikipedia, then we'll talk about the value it has for you and your Vacation Rental. Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length. Whew! Might need to take an aspirin and re-read it. Ok, "How can I use it?" Simply put, use it as a networking and branding tool for you and your property. Example... Check out: http://twitter.com/tradiate. He has a vacation property. He's listed his URL, a short bio and a background image of Beaver Creek (where his property is)(he's in NC). And what is very important, is he doesn't spam to rent out his place. He gets excited about the massive amounts of snow and let's us know about it. Then other's who are following him, can view what's going on there!!! That's it. That's Social Networking. Take a look at twitter.com and let us know how it's worked for you! Cheers, Jason

| I encountered a couple questions about some twitter basics. So here they are, and there will also be a seperate post on some great applications for twitter and tying all of them together. First create a profile. It is very easy. After you create a profile, post a couple times, not directly about your vacation rental (once is fine) but what else is in the area that's interesting. Did you get a lot of snow? Is it the 18th consecutive day with no clouds and an average temp of 85 degrees? Next, make some friends. Do a search (it's on the bottom). You could search on your location, travelers in general (there are a lot out there), other organizations that you could tie into, and also WHATEVER YOU ENJOY. The quickest way to get people to follow you: follow them and comment back. After that, go to your favorite blogs, or friends on facebook or any other social groups and see if they're on twitter. How do I "chat" with them? Simple. To send anyone a message simply use the @ symbol. For instance, if you wanted to send us something it goes like this "@vacaconnect we just got 8" of snow last night. Look at these pictures! http://yourlink.com" That's it! Lastly, monitor what people are saying. Just do a search on your name. It may take some time for others to mention you, but the 'hard work' is done and now you're twittering. Nice to tweet you, Jason

| John Jantsch from www.ducttapemarketing.com has put together a “Beginner’s Guide to Using Twitter for Business” and has graciously allowed us to post it here to all as a gift. This is not the definitive guide to all things twitter, this is a nice, simple, practical road map to show you how to start using twitter to reach some of your business and marketing objectives. Please let us know what you think, Jason
